More Artistic Inspiration

I'm a big fan of Nick and Sheila Pye. In fact, I had the pleasure of seeing one of their exhibitions last year, A Life Of Errors, at The Rare Gallery in NYC. I was also fortunate enough to meet them at a speaking engagement in New York a couple of years ago, wherein they welcomed thoughts and questions for about 2 hours and then showed much of their completed works, as well as various works in progress.

This clip is just a snippet of The Paper Wall

There are extraordinarily down to earth, present, open, unpretentious, smug-free and overall, lovely people.

They work within a variety of mediums including still photography, 16mm film and HD. If they are ever in your town I would highly recommend checking them out.

I always make *that* face when the eyeball lick scene appears. You know. *that* face.

That movie is kind of fucked up. Scary and funny all in one. I don't think I've ever seen someone pee their pants before. You hear of it, but you never see it.

Yeah...the eyeball lick. Kind of gross.

Is there any significance to these scenes? Other than art for the sake of art.

I think it would be amazing to watch the filming of some of this stuff.

I'm sorry Jenji, but what was that?

Chet, yes the eyeball deal always gets you, I know, which is why I included this particular piece of work. All just for you!

PsychGrad
Of course there is significance to these scenes, as the interpretive significance is entirely subjective and endless.

I have my own interpretations of this piece, the makers have their interpretations for and intentions of creating this piece and I can't say that I understand what you mean by "art for the sake of art." I mean I suppose I could assume what you mean, but to do so would be entirely irresponsible.

Please clarify if you would be so kind.

What was what? For me, it was a beautiful piece of work.
What was it for you?

How frigin Ironic is your last two posts! Grand Central Station and an art gallery in NYC!

How lucky are you? That is awesome that you got to meet those people. I love the galleries myself and use to go when I went to the city.

LOL, I clicked on the link and when the photos uploaded my daughter giggled out loud. Mom, is that porn?" I said, "No, it's art."

(Maybe a NSFW could go along with your link)

Loved the artwork and the video was wonderful.

I probably should have said art for art's sake.
